About Vance Hendrix

I was born in Springfield, Missouri and raised in Hallsville, Texas. Growing up, I always loved school — especially when it came to reading, writing, and finding unique solutions to the problems put in front of me. These interests never faded for me, and so it may come as no surprise that I wound up becoming an English teacher — at least, for a few years.

As a teacher, I discovered that I had a knack for explaining new concepts to my students in a way that was easy for them to understand, and that made the work extremely rewarding. Still, I felt that the role wasn’t quite right for me. I wanted to do something that would allow me to really help others and to constantly face new challenges.

After some reflection, I decided to give law school a try. I wasn’t sure exactly which areas I wanted to practice, but I was motivated by the realm of possibilities studying law had to offer.

Once I became an attorney and started practicing law, I was not disappointed by my decision. Not only does my work satisfy my need to solve problems, but even better — I get to solve problems that truly impact the lives of my clients.

MEDICAID PLANNING

Medicaid is designed to provide needs based assistance, including healthcare to senior citizens — ages 65 and up — who may not otherwise be able to afford it. The purpose of Medicaid planning, then, is to help ensure that you are in a position to be eligible for Medicaid when you reach your golden years.

Because the laws that pertain to Medicaid are constantly being updated, and because eligibility requirements vary from state to state, it’s important that you seek information from a trustworthy, reliable source. As an experienced elder law attorney, Mr. Hendrix can educate you on current Medicaid requirements in the state of Texas. Additionally, he can help you determine whether Medicaid planning is right for you and guide you through your next steps.

CUSTOM LEGAL SOLUTIONS

Every client I meet has their own unique story and set of priorities. I’ve had clients express concerns ranging from “I don’t want my grandson to blow his inheritance in two weeks” to “I don’t know anything about tax planning. Where should I start?” As these factors are revealed, I learn a little bit more about what needs to go into that particular estate plan — or marital agreement, or business contract, or whatever else the situation may call for. Fortunately for my clients, this is where I truly excel in my practice.

I cannot speak for my clients, but each time they send a friend or member of their family to me, I take that referral as a sign that I am approaching my practice in a way that they appreciate. To ensure that I continue to do so, I work to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the law, and I regularly remind my clients that their questions are welcome.

OUTSIDE THE OFFICE

In my work, my central focus is my clients. Outside the office, my world revolves around my wonderful wife and two children who, I am happy to report, have embraced the joy of reading books. The former English teacher in me could not be more thrilled.
